The part of the app that’s yours.

Behind a small gate on the title page: a profile for each child, a daily limit if you want one, and a short note at the end of the week. It all lives on the tablet. There is no account to make.

A gate made of your birth year

The grown-up area asks the year you were born, typed on a keypad the app draws itself, so no system keyboard slides up over the storybook.

We’ll be straight about what it is: four deliberate digits is well past a pre-reader, and it exists to stop wandering fingers. It is not a lock that a determined older sibling couldn’t work out, and it isn’t meant to be.

What’s behind it

A profile for each child

A name, an optional birth year, a picture mark, and their own daily limit. When there’s more than one child, the app opens on Who is playing? and each child taps their own mark.

Profiles keep each child’s shelf and history apart. They are not a security feature, and we don’t pretend they are.

A daily limit that ends gently

Choose from no limit, or 10, 15, 20, 30, 45 or 60 minutes a day.

When the time is used, your child finishes the game they’re in — it never cuts off mid-play. Then their friend says goodnight and the shelf goes to evening. There’s no countdown on screen and nothing that reads as a punishment.

“The meadow will be right here tomorrow.”What the friend says at the end of the day.

A note at the end of the week

The app writes you a short note from the week’s play: which days, roughly how long, which games, and whether the limit was reached. It’s made on the tablet and read on the tablet. It is never emailed, because there is no email to send it to.

It is not a report card, and the note says so itself.

Example

A week in Little Meadow

  1. M
  2. T
  3. W
  4. T
  5. F
  6. S
  7. S

The 20-minute limit was never reached this week.

Nothing here is a score. Little Meadow never ranks a child against anyone, including themselves last week.

  • Woolly Wash4 plays
  • Counting Meadow3 plays
  • Moonbeam Match2 plays

And money

There is nothing to buy in this version. If that ever changes, it will live here, behind the gate — never in your child’s world, and never as a prompt in the middle of play.

We don’t have a price yet. When we do, we’ll say it plainly.

One email, when it’s ready.

One email, when it’s ready. Not weekly, and not to win you back. You can leave any time.

Is this the right address?

We’ll write to it once, when Little Meadow is ready — so it’s worth a second look.
